For my graduation from High School in 1973, my parents bought me a 35 mm camera. While my family has tolerated me taking photos of them, they have enjoyed the results. From my first visit to Gettysburg in 1973, I've taken photographs of several Civil War Battlefields. While Gettysburg is my favorite, I do enjoy photographing all the Civil War Battlefields. From Vicksburg to Antietam, I have found the battlefields an interesting mix of landscape to monuments to gravestones. No matter how many times I go back to any of the Civil Battlefields, I find something new to photograph.

I hate to admit this, but I stole the idea from Stephen Recker's Virtual Gettysburg and added hot spots to my panoramic photographs of Gettysburg. Place your mouse over the various hills, mountains, houses, and roads to find the name of each. My efforts will give you just a taste of what Stephen has done with his amazing computer program Virtual Gettysburg.

I'm using Virtual Gettysburg as a research tool for my next novel Courage on Cemetery Ridge. I'm looking forward as Stephen takes on other Civil War Battlefields such as Antietam.

I hope you enjoy your Civil War Battlefield tour and will come back often.
